The LAVA system combines a zirconia framework with CAD/CAM technology. Among the newest ceramics used in dental materials, zirconia exhibits a very high flexural strength, as well as outstanding mechanical performance. Custom shaded for optimal esthetics, zirconia retains a translucent quality and prevents the opaque look common in traditional crowns. The final esthetic of LAVA Crowns is achieved with the baked-on outer layer, which closely resembles natural tooth enamel.

In addition to the high-quality of esthetics, LAVA Crowns pose several advantages. Their exceptional strength enables them for use with bridges and implants. The lack of an opaque layer results in minimal tooth reduction, and LAVA Crowns can be cemented with traditional PFM methods.
